Pine Pollen: The Miracle Herb For The Middle Aged Man

Spring is in the air and so is the pollen. But one of those pollens is actually a phenomenal nutrition source and are a remarkable medicinal herb. I’m talking about pine pollen!

Pine trees have two different reproductive structures, male and female. We all know the female structure. That’s the pine cone. The pine cone houses the seeds, or pine nuts, that will give rise to the next generation of little pine trees. The other structure is the pollen cone or catkin. These structures are very short lived but have an important job. They produce the pollen that fertilizes the seeds in the pine cones.

Pollen cones appear in the spring and once their job is done, they dry up and fall off the tree. When they are fully mature (usually in late May in my area) they release their pollen for a day or two. You can tell they’re releasing pollen by flicking them with your finger. Doing so at the right time will produce a distinct yellow cloud of pollen. Putting a bag over the end of the branch and whacking it so that the pollen goes into the bag is one way of collecting it. An easier way is to just pluck off the pollen cones and tincture them.

There are lots of herbs that support the complexities of female biochemistry. It seems like every other medicinal plant want to help the nice ladies. But for men it’s a different story. There are really very few plants to help the guys when their testosterone levels start to decline. Pine pollen to the rescue!

Pine pollen is an extraordinary nutritive full of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and amino acids for men or women, but it’s also an excellent source of phytoandrogens (plant testosterone) and is a remedy for infertility, erectile dysfunction, low libido and other issues caused by low testosterone. It also helps the body to put on muscle mass. Basically, it does all the things for a man that testosterone was doing when he was twenty that he’d like it to be doing when he’s fifty.

Pine pollen is also very adept at decreasing prostate hyperplasia and prostate cancer. There are also some good studies showing strong action against breast cancer.

Pine and its various parts (pollen, needles, bark, resin) is also an amazing medicinal in other ways. I just added an amazing, in-depth lesson on Pine to The HomeGrown Herbalist School of Botanical Medicine. If you want to deepen and broaden your understanding of this wonderful medicinal (and an hundred or so of his friends), join us.

I’d love to have you aboard.
