It seems, of late, that the world is trying to tell us something.
And what is it trying to tell us?
Bad Stuff Happens!
We used to turn on the news to see what the weather was going to do tomorrow. Now we tune in to find out which city is in flames today or what the latest news is on our global pandemic. It seems that things we once thought unlikely or impossible are becoming commonplace.
As the world continues to delight us with these modern reminders of how bad things could get, there has been a heightened interest in self-reliance and preparedness. People are taking stock of their skills and supplies. They are putting aside a little cash, a few extra roles of toilet paper and some canned goods…just in case.
People are starting to do risk:benefit calculations on even the most mundane decisions. “Do I need peanut butter badly enough that I’m willing to hang around with a hundred strangers at the grocery store today?” “Do I really want to sit around the urgent care waiting room for two hours with a bunch of sick people just because I have a bad cut or a bladder infection?”
What if you had some other options?
What if you knew how to take the plants that grow all around you and make them into medicines to treat your own cuts or bladder infections?
What if you could whip up a lotion to treat that little rascal’s diaper rash so you didn’t need to run to the pharmacy?
What if you could make a tea from the weeds in your yard to take care of your diarrhea so you didn’t have to go to the doctor and get an antibiotic that might significantly disrupt your intestinal flora?
What if you had a tincture that could make that sore tooth quit hurting?
“Sure,” you say, “but how can I learn all of that?”
Glad you asked!
As it happens, I’d be delighted to teach you how to do all of those things. The HomeGrown Herbalist School offers a broad curriculum that covers everything from boo-boos to life-threatening conditions. We also have a wonderful little Medicine Maker’s Kit. The Medicine Maker’s Kit consists of all the materials you need to make all kinds of different medicines. Purchase of the kit also also gives you lifetime access to eight different video lessons featuring yours truly walking you through each of the medicine-making techniques.
