How much control do you have over your life? How much control would you like to have? When you’re sick, do you say? “I have a bladder infection…I need to go to the doctor.” I think if I typed that sentence into a translating app it’d likely say, “I need to go sit in a […]

So, I’m in New York City for the holidays…well, actually I’m in New York City getting my brain blasted with gamma rays for fun. If you’ve been following the blog, you’ll know I had brain surgery earlier this year. I’d been growing a benign meningioma that was squishing my optic nerve. Nothing cancerous, just an […]
Coronaviruses are miserable critters. They can affect a number of body systems. In the good old days, the vast majority of human coronavirus infections merely resulted in a head cold or a little diarrhea. These days we have a new and improved coronavirus. There has been a lot of talk about getting jabbed with needles to aid in the global pandemic of the coronavirus Covid-19. Vaccinations have been a remarkable blessing in the control of a lot of serious diseases over the years. Smallpox, polio, tetanus, diphtheria, mumps, and a number of other diseases are now practically unheard […]
Having this herbal and naturopathic experience and a veterinary degree, and also having a state board of pharmacy license and a DEA license and a veterinary license and all the other fancy pieces of paper that say I can poke pills and needles into dogs and other critters, has given me unique opportunities and choices that most healers don’t have. As a result, I’ve had the opportunity to use herbs to treat everything from the common cold to gunshot wounds, rattlesnake bites, and gangrene. Over the years, I’ve used medications to treat those things as well. So, after a few decades of anecdotal research in my own practices, my opinions have developed pretty strongly on what works best for what.

It’s a lovely day in the thyroid gland. Sam and Sally Thyrocyte are sitting on the banks of the thyroid artery watching the red blood cells go by, their toes dipping in the warm, rich plasma. A red blood cell stops and offers the young couple some fresh oxygen molecules. Sam tips the RBC with […]
As we gear up for the holidays, we spend a lot of time and money shopping for presents and stocking stuffers for the folks we love. We put out decorations; wreaths on the door, trees in the living room, and tinsel everywhere. We do all of these things so that we can be ready for […]
Sir Isaac Newton, the famous physicist that discovered and quantified the law of gravity, codified the laws of thermodynamics, motion, mechanics and astronomy and (when he got bored with all of that) invented the reflective telescope and created the mathematical system of calculus, described himself as follows: “I do not know what I may appear […]
More than ever before, people are realizing that things can change. Recent events have shown the fragility of our normal lifestyle of ease and abundance. Historically, people have often taken measures to prepare for difficult times. Whether that preparation involves a few extra cases of canned goods in the pantry or a completely-stocked, bug-out bunker buried […]
