Organic Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil 10ml
Our Cinnamon essential oil comes from Cinnamonum zeylanicum. Cinnamon is distinguished by its small, white flowers, glossy green leaves, and cute purple oval berries. Italians called it canella, meaning “little tube,” and that just makes a lot of sense, considering the shape of cinnamon sticks.
Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known to mankind. In ancient Egypt, a single kilogram of cinnamon was worth OVER FIVE kilograms of pure silver. It was loved not only for it’s properties as a medicinal, and beverage flavoring, but also as an embalming agent. As a sign of remorse, Roman Emperor Nero ordered a year’s supply of cinnamon to be burnt after he murdered his wife… So as you can see, politics haven’t change much over the centuries.

You’ve probably heard of cinnamon bark oil, but don’t be confused as it is a totally different product. Cinnamon bark oil is extracted from the outer bark of the tree, resulting in a good quality, powerful essential oil. However, cinnamon bark oil is very refined and therefore very expensive for everyday use, which is why many people settle for cinnamon leaf oil as it is lighter, cheaper, and equally rich. making it ideal for common use.
Cinnamon leaf essential oil can be used as an additive in soaps and as a flavoring agent. When used in aromatherapy, diffused or applied topically (we recommend diluting it with milder essential oil or in your favorite cream, lotion or shampoo), it can have beneficial health effects. Here are some of its uses:
- As a disinfectant . With its strong germicidal properties, cinnamon oil works as a non-toxic natural disinfectant. It is used to clean your bathrooms and other surfaces
- As a facial scrub . Mix the oil with sugar, orange juice, and olive oil to create a facial scrub with incredible rejuvenating properties.
- Add to your foot bath . You can get rid of unpleasant foot fungi by mixing a drop of cinnamon essential oil with 1 tsp of carrier oil and add to a bucket of warm water. Soak feet in it.
- Like an insect repellent . The aroma of cinnamon leaf oil can deter pesky household insects, such as black ants, mosquitoes, cockroaches, and flies? Simply spray or diffuse the oil around your home. You can also spray it on your mattresses and sheets to get rid of bed bugs.
- Add it to your shampoo . Add a drop of oil to your regular shampoo to help keep your hair healthy and, in children, to help kill lice.
