Description :
Fo Ti is a perennial climbing herb, native to southern China, Japan, and Taiwan. It has red stems, heart-shaped leaves, and white or pink flowers. The dried root was often taken internally in Asia as a tea to help support liver and kidney function and to cleanse the blood.
History and Folklore:
Chinese folklore says that Mr. He was an older man whose health, vitality and hair color were restored after drinking Fo Ti tea for a few months. Fo Ti has been used for nearly 2000 years.
Cultivation and Harvest:
Harvest the roots in the fall. Dry for later use.
Precautions:
Do not use when pregnant or nursing. Use with caution in people with liver problems.
